The Elvis - Fling with the King Tournament began in 2006. It is hosted by the Tupelo Disc Golf Association in conjunction with the Tupelo Elvis Festival. 2013 brings the 8th annual event to Veterans Memorial Park in east Tupelo, only a stone's throw from the birthplace of the King of Rock and Roll. The annual festival celebrates the musical heritage of the town that influnenced and shaped the early years in the life of this cultural icon.
The tournament was recently changed to two rounds to allow disc golfer and visitors the opportunity to enjoy the many offerings the Elvis Festival offers. There is plenty of great food, music, entertainment, family fun, and a whole lot of folks that look like Elvis. Details for this year's schedule of events are listed here!. It is a great time to visit Tupelo and enjoy some great disc golf!
The 2013 tournament will offer some new looks to any seasoned Veterans Park player with some temporary tournament holes thrown in to equalize the field between local and out of towners. Both rounds will be grueling and only the strong will survive! Check the tournament page for full 2013 tournament details.
Also be sure to check the Facebook page for last minute updates regarding the tournament. It can be found here

Each year the Elvis Festival introduces new "Elvis" artwork for the festival. This presents the Fling with the King tournament an ever-changing array of exclusive Elvis images to compliment the tournament with an annual custom disc.
The initial FWTK tournament of 2006 offered what many consider the classic Elvis disc. The design was extracted from the Tupelo Elvis Festival logo and placed on a candy-apple red background with radiating circulars stripes! It was produced in both Valkyries and Sidewinders.
2006 also offered a player's pack con siting of Innova Full Color DX Rocs. The design was almost identical to the festival's standard logo. A similar, more generic design, was introduced for 2012!
Gold records and Elvis just go together. The 2007 artwork featured a trio of Elvis images laid suitably on a gold record Buzzzz! Another year, another classic disc! A Full Color Roc with the same trio was also used for the tournament!
The 2008 disc was a tribute to Elvis' years of serving his country. It details a young uniformed Elvis with the American flag in the background.
The 2009 disc featured a reverse silhouette of Elvis against a black background.
Elvis in a black tuxedo with his out-stretched arm straight against a blue star burst background created another beutiful tribute disc to the King.
A colorful collage backdrop with a close up of Elvis side profile introduced a new dimension to the Elvis disc collect.
Lucia Randle, 2011-2012 Elvis artist, created a perfect sequined Elvis in white against a black star-lite backdrop to create the perfect image for this year's disc.
