Trace St. Park - #16 Paul Poland
NOTE: See the Stripes on our SNDC Custom Super Color Buzzz in flight!

----------
Trace St. Park - Mini Hole #4 to #5 - Brian Wade
Throwing the Mini Course like a pro! (NOTE: mini's dont fly far!)
The Combined Score winner was Kent/Kent with an 18. (most were way up in the 20's)

----------

New Albany - #4 Jeff Ma
Narrow Hole to shoot into.

----------
I wished I had more pictures of New Albany, but I was tagging along with a group that had car trouble, and had to take +4's on (5) of the starting holes. Needless to say, because of +20 extra strokes, they came in last place. Other than that, they played well, and did not take a DNF. Mr. Hill & Mr. Earnest, Thanks for sticking it out!
----------

Payout Work - Saturday Night 7pm to 2:30am
Teeple left at 11:30pm (behind camera)
Brown, Haydel, Philley, Hunter & Joey Ingle, Nash, and Davis worked til 1:30am.
Grayson, our TDGA President, worked til 2:30am. Good Hard Work President!

-----------

Thanks all for attending our Southern Nationals Doubles Championship, here in Tupelo, MS.

(We plan on Building 1 more soon!)

Tishomingo St. Park has 2 courses.
Amory has the Panther Prowl DGC.
Columbus has Wispering Pines DGC.
Starkville has a DGC.
Oxford has a Course at Ole Miss, and near downtown.

And if you head toward Memphis... ...etc!

Ballard Park :: RE: Ballard II

For those who are tired of playing Disc Golf, but might want to get an idea of what could be another GREAT course here in Tupelo.
Go out to Ballard Park's new Baseball Complex, and walk throught the trees on the East Side.
(Please Read Grayson's Post below)

------------

It also would be interesting if we came up with a course name.
Ballard II DGC.
Ballard's Forrest DGC.
Ballard's Tree Trail DGC.

any other suggestions?

Tournaments :: RE: 08 SNDG Doubles Championship

Subject: WARNING for SNDC!!
Ok, this may be old news for most folks but I wanted this posted to hopefully educate those who may not know any better and refresh everbody else's mind.

The forcast for this weekend is upper 90's with a heat index of 110+. Now for those of you who regularly play in this weather it should be easy enough to handle. This is not bottled water weather folks this is sports drink weather. You need to consume at least 24+ ounces of gatorade per round and then at least that much water. When you sweat as bad as you are going to tomorrow water will not be sufficient to replace the electrolytes lost. As most of you know when your electrolytes are imbalanced you can get sick with nausea/vomiting and muscle cramping. However, are you aware that you can also have episodes of low blood pressure due to dehydration. The number one cause of juvenile acute renal failure is dehydration. So for all of you young bucks out there it is critical that you hydrate before and during the rounds. A good rule of thumb is to hydrate prior to and after the round with water and during the round with sports drinks to keep the electrolytes balanced. For us older folks the risk of kidney failure due to this is not necessarily less we just tend to do a better job of staying hydrated. Before the round drink till you pee, then your know your topped off. Remember that caffeine laden drinks do very little to hydrate and mostly just make you pee while providing almost no free fluids. Plenty of holes at Trace/Vet/Tallahatchie offer shade but many do not. It felt like an oven out there on number 9 at Tallahatchie yesterday and tomorrow promises to be worse. Take care of yourself, the TDGA folks want this tourney to be fun and safe. This is the exact kind of weather that super athletic football players die in all the time so be careful.

Oh, and don't forget the sunscreen. UV index is going to be a monster one.

Thanks for listening and look forward to a great tourney.

Tournaments :: RE: 08 SNDG Doubles Championship

Just a suggestion....

If anyone has a phone that has internet access, it would be good to have on hand at registration for any conflicts that may arise.

Again, just a suggestion.
